Hey this animation is so much fun, feisty and amusing.  There will be obvious comparisons made with Tamika, Mercedes, Jordan and Athena but this is totally different, a different perspective and the animation format in a strange way enhances the individual traits and personalities of the Sistas. 

Of course also cartoons can get over powerful messages sometimes much easier than the real thing. The four girls all have different characteristics and they blend together well in a mix of humor and realism – great stuff.

The DVD includes interesting interviews with Tina Andrews and her friends allowing you to get behind the characters by seeing the real inspirations behind them

The world of animation gets hot and sassy with this sexy and provocative romp in the Windy City detailing the lives of four gorgeous and fiery Sistas 'N the City. There's nothing like watching African-American women live, love and dish like only black women can.

Meet Tamika, a career driven woman seduced by a fine looking mama's boy, and Mercedes, a sculptor, whose position on black men is "show me where the white man went." Rounding out the femme fatale posse are bougie law clerk Jordan, who has decided that "men are from mars, and black women are stuck on earth," and fledgling singer Athena who is "going to do whatever it takes to get to the top," even if she won't be able to recognize herself in the mirror again.

From elation to eviction, the Sistas experience the highs and lows of the big city. When they are presented with tempting but questionable opportunities, they are forced to make life altering decisions.

Sistas 'N the City is sexy, edgy, insightful, hilarious, and powerful. You just might recognize one of these girls as a member of your own crew.
