Seek Talk About it- Dome

Seek are a six piece Atlanta band who who hope to feature more fully on the site shortly. Their first two albums sold more than 20,000 copies in the US. This is the first time that their material has been available directly outside the US, in advance of their third album, coming up on Dome.

Lead singer and lyricist Lisa Terry calls their music danceable lullabies. Producer and guitarist Freddy Luster cites influences such as Sade, Isley Broters, Carole King, ETBG, Seal, Jamiroquai.

Guest songwriters on the album are Angela Johnson and fellow Atlanta musician Paige Lackey who co wrote Incognito's If you want my love.

Ahead of the album is a 3 track vinyl including Talk About it, and two uptempo Soul cuts Right Here (Seekronised Remix) and Ever After (Tauriva Remix). All three tracks are perfectly suited to UK Modern Soul rooms, and beyond. They are all mid to uptempo yet retain a mellow easy groove. The vocals are smooth, unstrained and easy to listen to, enhanced by the beat which take the songs into dance territory, though equally you could almost chill to these.

The Remix of Right Here just wins it for me on these three selections, although I suspect it will be the newer Talk About it that will get the plays because of a more persistent beat and a slightly harder edge, and stronger vocals.
