Keisha White – Watcha gonna do – Open Like so – Hi Jinx – Don’t care who knows – K Day http://www.keishawhite.co.uk/kw.html

The buzz surrounding this was such that I was looking forward to hearing this.  Unfortunately the key cut Watcha gonna do was such a turn off for me (it’s the rock guitar!) that I hope it doesn’t taint any objectively.   Fortunately it picks up on – Open Like so – which allows Keisha’s voice to come through and control the track a bit better.  Despite being so young she has a whole heap going for her and the start of her career couldn’t really be better, mixing and showcasing with some great contemporary people.  Suggest you read the bio at her website.

Hi Jinx is the kind of track that gets so big these days yet it’s pretty faceless R’n’b with a Spanish lilt.

Don’t care who knows is a nice ballad, kind of along the lines of say Alicia, and is probably the pick of these to cuts.  Tracks like this suggest that she’s going to be Ok, and could have an appeal to a pretty diverse audience.  Back to where we started with K Day I’m afraid.  Hope she gets her direction right!

2 Play – It can’t be right – 2PSL/Inferno

Very poppy and getting big playlisting as you would expect following the success of the previous hit.  Utilising hot UK acts Naila Boss and  Raghav, whose voice is very sweet and lends itself to this lightweight reggae, popular club kind of thing.  I’m afraid it’s not hard enough for me, even on the dancehall mix, but it’s summery  dancey and it will be huge.

After the phenomenal success of 'So Confused' featuring Raghav, which went in at number eight in the national charts, up to six and on to spend a total of five weeks in the top ten, producer extraordinaire 2Play is back with his unique hybrid of RnB, reggae and garage on 'It Can't Be Right'.

2Play first exploded onto the UK garage scene in 1997 as a DJ, playing alongside EZ and Karl Brown. He is also the man behind this years huge club cover of the Kevin Lyttle hit 'Turn Me On' and is currently working on his debut album, which he describes as an infectious mix of reggae, ragga and soul with international appeal.

For his second single, he has once again enlisted, arguably the UK's hottest new singer, Raghav, whose hot single 'Can't Get Enough' has only just left the top ten. Phenomenal new UK rapper Naila Boss, fresh from supporting Fatman Scoop, Luducris, Blu Cantrell and 112, lends her distinctive flow to the track on the A side while Jucxi D, best known for his work on “So Confused” and with artists Lamb, Damage and UK Apache, brings his ragga vocals to the B side.

There is going to be no avoiding 'It Can't Be Right' as it tears up dancefloors and radio nationwide. A sure fire hit, watch this one fly!
