Khani Cole - Lifetime - XECD 31

A follow up to 'Places' this is an excellent album in a soulful jazzy vibe. One of the things I like about this album, over much solo independent soul product, is that there is a band, musicians and instruments - giving the album a feel and a depth.

There are some standout tracks on this. ' All about U' is soulful and melodic, 'What is real' is a mid tempo groover, possibly my cut of the album. 'Real Thing' is 8 minutes of class, a Stevie Wonder song - midtempo soul with jazzy interludes. 'Trickin' is a bit funkier and 'if' is gorgeous .

The others tend to me slow jazzy ballads of which 'Things U do' is excellent.

Strangely the title track, a cool jazzy tune, disappointed me a little but all in all good stuff and well worth a listen.
