back in the studio cutting a new Jodeci Album for 2001. Take a look

The special edition DVD (jewel layer DVD)
includes a bonus 45 minute Jodeci concert taped at the Apollo Theatre plus 15
Jodeci and K-Ci & JoJo music videos which are only available on the DVD

Review -
Documentary – The video was made to commemorate Ki & Jo Jo's ten years in the
music business. Includes (Xrated) videos such as the version of How do you want
it, interviews, video location shots and stage footage. Basically it is a
celebration of all things K-Ci and Jo Jo through their retrospectives to date
(of issue).
It is uncut hip hop lifestyle at the upper end,
but what these guys have are great soulful voices as evidenced in the
Stevie-esque Lately, but also on the harmonies and voice hystrionics of modern
R'n'B. It is great to see a group and individuals putting vocal sequences such
as this togther, quite often in Modern R'n'B this craft is overlooked.
It is not exactly mindblowing deep stuff, these
things are always kind of superficial, but what does come across is that above
all the playfulness and image stuff they take their craft, their singing, their
production, their arrangement seriously.
Concert footage of Jodeci at the Apollo and
various other concerts.
Includes full length videos as listed below, of
all the Jodeci and K-Ci & Jo Jo hits and more. Lots of ladies on show of
course. The songs are though are the overriding factor, excellent constructed
and vocalised, pretty much without exception, modern enough for the street and
the image but sufficient props to the old school male vocal groups and gospel.
A superb live version of Lately as part of the unplugged sessions, a definite
stop what you're doing, pay attention and listen moment!!
Includes a remix of U Bring Me up featuring Snoop
and his mellow style fits well with Kci and Jo Jo's vocal arrangements, but for
me it's the ballads like Life which I find the best, they are more thougtful
and less posey and allow the vocal talents to come through, particularly as a
duet.
Music Videos – the next section is a selection of
all the full uninterrupted videos as listed below. Just put it in hit play and
relax through it all. Some are included in the documentary section.
Crazy includes some footage from the film save the
last dance. Get on Up a great black and white vido, and a great Jodeci outing,
fun time on the streets. Cry for me, another slow Jodeci joint in the hot
desert sands. But all the way it is quality.
Jodeci – Live at the Apollo -
Concluding the set is
Jodeci at the Apollo from 1994 I believe. The vitality of the live show comes
through, and aside from the stage antics, the group comes over strongly. Stage
wise they obviously sex it, and some of those outfits are still dated after
less than 10 years, up but it is still quality. I'm not usually a great lover
of live show albums and videos, but this was some show and is certainly worthy
of inclusion.
In total more than 3 hours of footage including
all the videos you could wish for – great stuff.
