"I'm Bout It is a motion picture written, directed, produced by and starring Master P. It is a drama comedy based loosely on his life. Surviving the projects of his home town, New Orleans, Master P takes us through the journey of life as it goes down in the ghetto and tough streets of a city that is known for gumbo, good times and the Mardi Gras. While the rest of the world is experiencing carnival, take a ride into a harsh reality. Live, if only for a moment, the suspense, action, and undermining that exists during one man's struggle to escape the ghetto and find a better life."

Feature film that was apparently banned in theatres across America. In a way it's your typical hip hip ganster life movie. On the other hand it has a comedy yet chilling element.

Whilst may be loosley based around Master P, and whilst he may have been there he understands all the stupidities and the ironies about the whole thing and introduces the comedy element. But it ain't funny, there are some chilling unremorseless scenes, yet it doesn't condone.

The images of life are realistic, the introduction of the characters is deep, the underlying theme is one of goodness and brotherhood. Doing wrong but knowing right.

Typical in that, as always, there's one more deal, it escalates in the usual spiral of things, retribution to be had, scores to settle, plus the big let down of trust, the death, more retribution and around and around again, just one more time! And all this against a backdrop of some lazy beats and lyrics.

Powerful and hits home, let's hope it does.
