Movie centererd around hip hop life and lifestyle but particularly the effect of the three death events mentioned in the intro above. These three events were and are central to hip hop life, style and development and the deaths affected communities in different ways but they were all felt no matter what side of the divide you hung. The feelings are intense.

The film takes each of these chronologically with video cuts and assorted commentary from various relevant people each time talking about the effect, reasons, whys and wherefores.

The big players in hip hop are featured here and are worth listening too together with some playas of lesser importance. The key thing about the negativity is that some much positivity came out of it, and from it hip hop went, and is, massive.

Musical pieces on here come from the LA peace festival in it's attempt to bring headz together, together with a few videos. Personally I would have preferred more of the latter, because the live bits eventually come over as a bit same- y and add less as the show goes on.

Some of the images illustrate a certain wastefulness but usually it is from those aspiring, rather than those who have. Talent and skillz win through at the end of the day.

Wisest words as always from KRS1 – kick out the egos and just play.

Concludes with a section of where we are today (about 2001), which is much more positive, and also where the better musical videos are.

And more it looks to the future. The movie shows how much hip hop has grown in the last seven or eight years, whilst trying to retain it's credibility in going mainstream. The unanswered and unasked question is – who is now pulling the strings.

Movie that is going to appeal to the hip hop heads rather than a neutral film goer.
