Little Louie Vega Soul Heaven Creation Bristol - April 12 2002

A great night featuring one half of the awesome Masters at Work team. Awaited with anticipation by a large crowd, maybe six or seven hundred I guess. The place was busty but not rammed - Eric Morillo was on down the road - may have had something to do with it. Loud, heavy and bassy sound system.

Louie treats the decks as instruments and he took the crowd with him through his moods and style and beat changes.

Starting with more soulful material and that is what I really went to hear and it was a feast of soulful and uplifting MAW inspired house and garage.

I did expect him to include a feast of Latin stuff. He did this to great effect built into a crescendo of percussive latino beats.

Louie mixed in MAW stuff but also product from elsewhere and to my surprise included Angie Stone. Although this cut is or has been recently one of the strongest cuts around it was bizarrely probably the weakest one he put down!

Top night indeed.
